And you wonder why there's no music discussion. Because I won't pointlessly acclaim something by someone you don't even particularly care about. Pointless acclaim was the last thing I wanted. You know me by now. I was looking for comment on the Dylan album or the interview or something related. Attack the thing, great. Have a go. I'd love to read it. I'm trying to keep this half-cocked place going, starting threads, looking for stuff to talk about. So when folk chime in just to say 'what do you mean? why should I give a shit about this?' it pisses me off. I'm getting tired of it. What's the point? Sorry if I upset you. But you upset me. Nah nah.

And as for how long it's been since the last great Dylan album, the old adage "your mileage may vary" is what comes to mind. My vote is for Modern Times, which was not that long ago in the grand scheme of things. Fair enough. That was the one after Love And Theft, and it wasn't bad. But I didn't think it was as good, and given that it came a full five years later - with no less than six archival releases/comps in between! (yeah, I looked it up) - I was disappointed.

I'll give it a chance (he's a Nobel laureate ffs) but I still think that track in the OP is utter tripe.

remember that old story that Lennon put out a record under a different name to see if anybody would like it? well, what if Dylan did that? would the Lion's Share of rock critics shoot their load over it the way they do each and every new Dylan offering? of COURSE NOT!!!!
Bob's baggage, for better & worse, is part of the deal. I think a lot of critics write "second coming" reviews in hopes that they will get an interview.
