Japanese gabber dj releasing something African-inspired on the essential Nyege Nyege tapes (well a sub-label of it), after visiting Uganda and collaborating with the likes of Duma.

More Nyege Nyege Tapes stuff, Ugandan percussion mixed with spaced-out synths. You've got to think there'd be room in Little Jimmy Osmond's life for this kinda thing.

A little more synth and I would have cared for it a little more. It has it moments but not enough of them. Funny enough the related artists brought me to the fabulous Neptunian Maximalism and their sonically engineered album Eons.

Hammering this again, becoming one of my very favourite albums. Huge voice, industrially tinny production, it's just fucking epic.

From 2018, though I only learned of its existence a few days ago. Recorded in Montréal, sung entirely in French, and shockingly good so far (I'm halfway in). (after finishing it:) I'll pretty much stand by that, but at nearly 50 minutes it is too long. Honestly, you'd think record-makers - especially in the age of the LP resurgence - would know better by now.

Big haired drummer and once guaranteed Mercury Prize nominee Seb Rochford's Brit jazzers fourth album. Lost track of them after this, did they keep going or not?

Comp of German electronic bod's low-key chilled synth-pop burblings.

Retro synth-punk thing from 2011, which I quite like, despite not a single track really jumping out. Very much a Suicide in their melodic moments, with a hint of Tuxedomoon.
