Playing days?
Wasn't really a big Nike fan for some reason. My basketball trainers where either converse or fila. Shorts were champion or the odd Nike one. T-shirts were whatever i could find in my press and what was clean. Rigs (Vests) where usually champion as they used to make all NBA rigs back in the day.

Wham-O No other discs came close Peerless. Or is that pearless? I have some discs that are for playing Frisbee golf, but they are not Wham-O so I can't really take them seriously.

I'm always favored Spalding for indoor/outdoor basketballs. I think I have three now, even though I never play.

I still have my Wilson Jim "Catfish" Hunter mitt that I used in Babe Ruth (jr. high little league) and all through adult softball leagues. When it goes, I go.

For football, it's only Nerf these days. I have one like this in a beach bag in my car trunk with towels and frisbees. I'm Californian - beach chairs, beach towels, frisbee and a Nerf football are as essential in my car trunk as a spare tire and jack.

Prefer Nike for any kind of knockaround or sports shoes. They tend to run wider and I'm kind of a sasquatch as far as my feet, size 13. For casual, I'll go Converse or Keds or Vans. And of course, flip flops or sandals. I like Teva and Dr. Scholl's for sandals. These are great sandals. Adidas, Puma and such tend to run narrow. Here's my latest pair I got a couple weeks ago.

Converse All-Stars. Always had at least one pair since I was about 16. Which sadly is a very long time ago now.

Adidas originals were my favourites. When I was a kid it was just the brands my parents could afford though.
My brothers had a Nike fetish which put me off them.

I have a Spalding and a Wilson basketball and I favour the Wilson to throw around by some distance, its an NBL replica and generally feels a lot better in the hand than the Spalding, which is just a standard ball. Shoe wise I like Brooks, but they can yet a bit pricey. Luckily I managed to get two pairs of the same shoe in different colours half price so I'm good for a while, otherwise I gravitate to whatever the best value in a sale.

Never got the Nike thing to be honest. I look at Jordans for example and i think a majority of them look, meh. I reckon Jordan sold more sneakers than the design of the sneakers. I know that might sound obvious, but i mean Jordan was 90% of the reason they sold so many, usually you'd thinking it was 50/50 or 60/40.

In terms of running shoes, my favourites are easily Mizuno runners, such as the Wave Inspires. They are a little more expensive than the average but without busting the bank, and the fit and quality are always top notch.
For football i've found that both Adidas and Nike make decent boots, and i'll buy whichever i find at a good price.
But just for walking around, i like Puma Suedes or Adidas Superstars.

I don't have any brand loyalty when it comes to hockey gear - I'll get whatever's cheap and works best for me. A couple of seasons ago I shelled out $300 for a pair of Bauer skates, which is a lot for me, but considering you can spend upwards of a grand on skates it seemed like a worthwhile investment.
