I think he's very good but I don't think I'd say "brilliant" - not yet anyway. who knows what the future holds? as it stands I took "not bad" which is the next step down from brilliant in the poll.
He's kind of like Clooney. he's got a "regular guy" sort of vibe and he can do empathy stuff without screwing up his brow too much. I especially liked him in "the kids are alright". None of the other characters really expect to like him and everybody sort of does. he's not a saint - he's just an okay guy.
I think his "Smart Hulk" was a lot of fun - one of the highlights of the franchise. sure, it's mostly CGI but he's putting a lot of personality in the thing. if you've dealt with his anguish in earlier movies then his solution is very satisfying.
I heard he wants to play "Colombo" in a re-boot. on one hand I can see it. I spit in the other hand.
yuck.

I really enjoyed him in Zodiac and Spotlight, especially. I agree with Snee - he's reliable, he's got presence without being too BIG on-screen. Maybe he's got a big defining future role that will make him SUPER SUPER SUPER famous and not 'just' famous. Or maybe he's avoiding that and he's happy just skating along.

He's ok when given the right part. His lazy delivery and lack of variety place him squarely in the "Serviceable, but not great" category..

I think he's lovely and he has the same hair (and beard when wearing) as my husband. I enjoy his acting.

I can name at least a handful of actors that are more worthy of a thread than Paul fucking Ruffalo.

He’s very good. Maybe even with flashes of brilliance. “You Can Count On Me” was an incredible film debut - and perhaps he hasn’t quite surpassed it since. But he’s never been less than than an asset to any film I’ve seen him in.
