The wrath of khan.
Shatner and Montalbán never actually shared a scene together. When they were talking to each other over the ships screen, Montalbán filed his part a day or week before hand. I think it would be brilliant to see them verbally spar together face to face.

Anybody remember a movie from the 80's called "The Great Santini"? it got a lot of attention at the time. Robert Duvall played a Hard-ass pilot who treated his son like shit. Duvall got a lot of praise for it - it's a VERY unflattering role. when he was up for awards the clip they'd always show was him belittling his son for being a loser and bouncing a basketball off the back of his head.
Anyway the spoiler is that he expresses something resembling admiration for his son and promptly dies in the line of duty (or something).
I always thought they missed an opportunity for a great scene. Dad lives but he's pretty messed up. This gung-ho military guy has to lay there in an iron lung or something and deal with the fact that his family loves him despite what an astonishing hard-ass he is.
it would have served him right.
