I remember reading of this song's existence 'way back in the mid-'70s, and occasionally since then... but I don't think I've ever actually heard it before. (Was it bootlegged?) It's gonna be on the forthcoming deluxe Goat's Head Soup (yee-haw).
Whaddaya think?

It's a great riff, the guitars sound like cut throat razors ( a good thing obviously) and the rhythm track does that dark voodoo thing they did so well back then. But the vocal adds nothing and is proof positive that by this stage Jagger was the weak link in the band. The chorus is a bit meh too, diluting the toughness the track had so effectively created. It's a very typical early 70s Stones track in the regard that you feel it had the potential to be so much better had their instincts been sharper.

There is an instrumental version going round that features Page a little more prominently.

Not much of a song but a heck of a track. It's what I've come to expect of most Stones bonus tracks.
