Their first two albums are better than Parallel Lines ISN'T THAT SO? Gawd, I wouldn't say so. There's some great pop in there, but they seem to be wandering around and bumping into things, musically, just as much. They reached pop perfection with Parallel Lines, where everything got streamlined.

I think Chapman understood what the band wanted - they wanted to Rule the World! I like what came before but this one and the next strike me as confident to the point of mercenary. I think the songwriting has gone up a notch. Good solid records.
