The idea behind it is to allow people who are not biologically born women, but who identify as women, or are trans, to have a "woman" identity that I guess doesn't impinge on the biological sacrality of "being a woman" - hence "womxn".
That's my take on it.

As usual, there's no arguing with the idea, it's just that particular term which looks ridiculous (and as a consequence, kind of damages the concept before the public as a whole have a chance to come to grips with it)

I don't think you can say that with any sense of certainty. Liberal ideas of the Sixties such as vegetarianism, homosexuality and environmental concerns were dismissed by the "Establishment" as fashionable ideas that might be wont to disappear, but they are all now fully established as part of the marketplace of ideas. What is to say that these won't be? But you're lumping any kind of liberal or socially progressive idea into one big lump without any attempt to differentiate the substance of the ideas or their critical basis. It's like judging the entirity of feminism on some public display of bra burning in the early seventies. You can get silly fads and extremes within legitimate movements or social theories, but to use those to dismiss entire ideas and movements suggests an ulterior motive.

Well yeah. The transmission of information and ideas is so fast - particularly if it's a bad idea, because there are plenty of people out there to rubbish it and make hay from doing so.
But if it comes from Academia, particularly American Academia, then the transmission will be sustained, because there will be a groundswell of people to back up those ideas.
The video below concerns Maths being racist. Another one that did the rounds recently was 2+2 does actually equal 5.

I'm not dismissing these ideas in their entirety. The quest to crush racism and prejudice is a noble one and most theory has some observation grounded in some facet of truth somewhere. What I'm concerned about is the speed at which these are transmitted, and that there seems to be a lot of shit ideas floating about that are getting traction.

There are also a lot more shit ideas previously accepted as true, embedded deeply into mainstream culture (and even consecrated in law) that are now receiving much-needed scrutiny.
I’d say that things even out, but it isn’t remotely equal.

So - true or false? 3. ..the Americans would work longer weeks than the UK’s 40hours/week. We got 30 days plus Bank Holidays of annual leave each year, the Americans got 5 days a year, increasing by 1 day per 5 years’ service to a maximum of 10 days. I can’t remember whether they got public holidays or had to take them out of their allowance, but I remember on a few occasions hearing people talk about how they hadn’t used their full allowance for a year. The workplace culture over there is properly fucked, and I think people just accept it because of things like healthcare being linked to employment. False - although I'm sure some company uses a formula like that. All American companies are required to give 11 holidays(different holidays depending on region and some are actually floating days to cover different religions). On top of that you typically start with 2 weeks vacation and get another week after 5 years of service(I'm sure some it starts at one week). The max is usually 4 weeks but I've got 5 weeks). Some jobs allow more but will not pay you for it. City and state jobs usually let you accrue it instead of losing it at the year end. That being said, many employees at companies all over the country don't take them all and might even be afraid of loosing their job over taking vacation days. yes its sad. In regard to work ethics, don't kid yourself while many employees work their tail off there are many jobs in America that the employees don't work very hard, take tons of breaks and get paid basically to sit at a desk all day and do very little. At the same time yes lots of people work several jobs.

I think if you took away travel time to and from work, most Americans work a normal amount of hours.

What area are they in?
Sitting in traffic that is moving slow is different than traveling a distance, some get hit with both. But the average American lives close to where they work, that's where slow moving traffic can be a factor.

Things just keep getting weirder: www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/11-heavily-armed-men-claiming-to-not-recognize-our-laws-in-custody-police/ar-AALJgPh?ocid=msedgntpThe incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. when a state trooper came across a group of 8 to 10 people refueling on the side of the I-95 highway in Wakefield, a suburb of Boston. The group was dressed in military-style uniforms, carried tactical gear like body cameras and helmets and had long guns slung over their shoulders.
Officials said they made two initial arrests and the rest of the group, which calls itself "Moorish American Arms," fled into a wooded area. As a result, a stretch of I-95 was closed and shelter-in-place orders were set for people who live nearby.

I haven’t seen “womxn” used. It must be a San Francisco/Seattle/Portland thing. I do worry about there being an entire generation without a semblance of a sense of humor. They’re driving people to the right.
