The fact that I don't instantly think it's a ridiculous comparison says much for the Velvets, who probably are, ultimately, my second-favorite band of all-time.
That said, it still isn't that close. Goggles intact, in other words.

dude, I have been binging on Velvets for a couple of weeks. Beatles! yeahyeahyeah YEAH. I LOVE VU but my regard for the Beatles will make darknessfish cringe like a vampire in the sunlight. they are the toppermost of the whaddayacallit.

Rip Torn's food in "Defending Your Life" - some people like to manipulate the senses. why do more people like Keane kitty kats with big sad eyes than (your favoriet artist here)? some people beat off to the march of a different drummer (or something like that)
