completely random, so don't be too judgemental. 3 songs that cropped up. vote on and discuss if you wish.
everybody's been burned - the byrds
fresh as a sweet sunday morning - bert jansch
something on your mind - karen dalton

there is something so majestic about jansch. an effortless player. this track has nesmith stamped all over it but without woolhat's troublesome grating earnestness. it is bert in excelsior.

That Byrds thing is so boring. What were they playing at? terrible.
The other two are OK. I'll go for Karen. It's more singular, more interesting.

I'm with skope on "EBB". A great song and arrangement, and just listen to that fucking Hillman!
These are all wonderful, but my first impulse was to vote for Karen so I'll follow that. On another day it could be either of the others.

I suppose it's Karen Although after a while she does sound like a faulty windscreen wiper.

The Byrds track has a languid, almost Velvetsy charm about it, but it's also teetering on the edge of tedium. Sounds like it wants to be on the closing credits of a fairly miserable 70s film.
The Jansch track is also in a similar vein, albeit much more British and a tad more trad around the vocals. As someone who likes Jansch quite a bit, I have to say, his vocals can be a bit strident at times, doesn't apply the same subtlety to his voice as to his playing. That guitar floats along nicely though.
I never really bought into the fuss about Karen Dalton, and even though I've heard this quite a few times before, it seems more effective right now, there's a wealth of emotion flooding through her voice. Sounds like she's lived a life, that she's lived what she's singing about. Yeah, I was all ready to vote for Jansch, but this is hitting the spot tonight.
