"excited" is a little strong. curious - yeah. hopefully it follows the WTF tradition of the other two. I'll say this for the old boy - he's still got some surprises up his sleeve... or... I hope he does, anyway.

I'm decidedly less curious after watching this. "egypt station" was worth a spin or two. that's my highest hope, I'm afraid.

I like McCartney I and II pretty well - possibly II a little more! - though both are a bit erratic, with some strong moments among the unfinished half-songs.
It all has a certain charm, I must admit. I know he's the benchmark for this kind of thing, but I like the fact that his recordings are a lot more casual than the Emitt Rhodes and Todd Rundgren ones (among others) that followed in the first one's wake.
I'll probably treat it like any new Macca records these days - expect there'll be a great track or two and a lot of filler, and be pleasantly surprised if it's a bit more than that.
As an aside, though, that's an ugly cover.

I'm not curious at all, but I do have some admiration for his work ethic and for the fact he still seems to love making music.

He's close to 80 and sounds it. Would anyone but a sadist want to watch an 80 year old former boxing champ fight the current one?
