This is the film I recommend to people who don't like his work:

I watched the first of the 4 HBO Hours. it's rough. I stand corrected. it's all over for that guy. Even if nothing is ever proven in a court of law -- the court of public opinion will be devastating.
I personally believe you can't judge people's contributions to the Arts by the lives they lead. I LOVE Woody Allen films. I don't know if I'll be watching any for a while because this is going to leave a very bad taste in my mouth.

Ah shit.
I was lead to believe that there wasn't really anything new in the doc, just a 'repackaging' of what we already knew. But it looks like what they're doing is portraying him as a very guilty old specimen.

well, maybe I'm thick but my mouth hung open a few times. Even if Mia etc. have plotted and planned for years - the bottom line is that they and the others speaking of these events seem credible and concerned. it's a total BUMMER. I can't wait for you to watch it!!!

I've never been convinced by the allegations and I think the way he has been treated and talked about his actually pretty appalling.
I'm not being funny but if he didn't look like a nonce I suspect he would have garnered more sympathy over the years.
I can't help but feel for him.

I've always seen Farrow as an unstable person, well before she hooked up with Allen

Moses Farrow has been very scathing. My impression is that Farrow is a piece of work.

I’m not going to watch the documentaries or read any more articles or books on the subject. I honestly resent this being fought in the court of public opinion. I refuse to be a voluntary juror.
What I know is this: The whole damned thing is an American tragedy. The kind of tragedy happening daily all over the world. I don’t think a thirty-year of accusation needs me to choose a side.
Clearly Woody Allen is a cold fish and Mia Farrow is a bit off. I don’t need to get any more granular than that.

Here's an interesting blog post that is mentioned in the Guardian piece. I'll be honest, I feel a little guilty about regarding Mia Farrow as a kook. Why exactly do I have that opinion about her? I think it's because she's been presented that way to me over the years. The age difference between her and Sinatra was discussed but did it affect Sinatra's public perception? not much. the age difference was notable and was somehow characterized as being HER fault. the same with the whole "big family" thing. the fact that she adopted a lot of kids was always armchair analyzed - same with Angelina Jolie. they MUST be nuts to adopt so many kids. what are they trying to prove? you know what I mean? I know you only take home movies when people are happy but, even if the Guardian piece is correct (as I suspect it is on the whole) seeing happy kids over the years doesn't help that whole "why did she adopt those kids" narrative. I think most of her "kooky" behavior can fit very neatly under the umbrella of her devastation at having her lover leave her for her adopted daughter. so, yeah, she's probably nuts but only in the way that very talented actors often are. they need to wear their nerves outside their skin - you know? Finding naked photos your lover took of your adopted daughter over 30 years his junior is certain to amp that up a bit - don't you think? I can't bring myself to continue watching. I guess i will eventually. Details like the thumb sucking are really hard to wrap the head around. still, the Guardian piece and the blog post above make a very good case that the film makers are making no effort at a balanced view of these events. One thing the current media landscape is really good at is kicking someone when they are down.

I would say that's a pretty generous assessment of Farrow.

The larger point is... none of us know her. Why are we trying to judge her image anyhow?
