Bit sad, too. Very binary. Suggests anyone who doesn't smoke tobacco, subsist on junk food, drinks 1.5l of sugary pop a day (while having diabetes) is a health nut. And can't tell the difference between a hypochondriacal drug and surgery addict with body dysmorphia issues and a person with a healthy, non-nutty lifestyle.

He does have a bit of a point though..a bit. not interested in squabbling about this, G, but I'm genuinely interested in what his bit of a point is, as you understand it.

What's that old working class expression? .."A little bit of what you fancy.." I think there's some truth to that, about just enjoying little pleasures where you can without getting too hung up about it. Obviously Googa takes it to a bit of an extreme..I doubt he'll reach 70!

I bet he lives to 100. One of those " drink a pint a day and listen to a Boyz II Men" secret to longevity types.

very interesting responses on bcb. apparently carlsson ran marathons and played squash to a professional level. strange that a man so healthy can manage to look like death warmed-up. and then we have dickie the dustman briskly walking his labrador inbetween hitting his sweet-spot while his missus keeps him in the manner he's accustomed to.

Ah, gotcha. But as you acknowledge, it's more 'a lot of what you're addicted to' in Googa's case, as it was in MJ's

He does have a bit of a point though..a bit. Some people can exist on shit and live to 90, others can run ten miles every day and drop dead at 40. Genetics maaaan. Of course it's best to edge yer bets and not live exactly like Googa perhaps but nobody on their death bed ever thinks.... "maybe I should have jogged more"

I thought it was interesting too. You can't escape your family and medical history. I'm adopted and know nothing about my health history. I have worked out pretty religiously most of my life, but have smoked cigarettes and drank my share of all kinds of alcohol. I never used to worry. I wasn't fat and my pulse and blood pressure were low. My resting heartbeat was always between 52-56 beats per minute. And then it spiked in my mid '50s and I had to go on blood pressure medicine that day. I should have quit drinking and smoking too, but didn't. I've done better lately and go on up to one year binges abstaining from both. But life catches up. The only reason I wanted to know about my parentage is for health reasons. But I'm 59 and I figured whatever would have happened would have happened by now and now it's up to me to decide how healthy I want to be.

yikes, i thought you were in your mid-60s? You're the one I'm worried about. I've mentioned my age quite a few times and you keep forgetting. Adam. You're name is A-D-A-M, right?

According to the Goog, Michael Jackson lived a healthy life.
