So they can either appoint some competent, professional Scots who understand their country or they can appoint some posh thickos.....tough choice? I doubt it. The SNP have been a disaster...health, education, crime, drugs etc. We can't afford independence. It's a pure fantasy. Not only that they are creepy cunts as evidence by their attempted Hate Speech bill. Yesterday on the bus I overheard some bus drivers chatting and none of them liked Sturgeon and they were saying that we couldn't afford it either. It gave me some hope that one day we will ditch the SNP completely. I don't know Dougie , labour voters seemed to leave on mass like they where three- nil down with five minutes to go. It is remarkable that after what 86 years 'simple' things like currency are problematic to the SNP. I don't know that the left voters in Scotland are particularly loyal SNP independent believers. Brexit has shown though that if you can whip up the inner clansman and pump flower of Scotland out of enough speakers common sense isn't part of the equation.

Well, who's gonna reanimate Labour's corpse? It seems to me like the party has given up, abandoned us. The only opposition we have has been Ruth Davidson. A desperately poor state of affairs. I supported devolution when I was younger but it's been a mistake and we are now trapped with the SNP. There are only two ways out...independence or a unionist party taking back control. In the meantime the SNP can do whatever the fuck they want and the rest of us can do nothing.

I suppose that even if the SNP suffered a catastrophic defeat in the voting in any future election the fact that they exist will mean that Scotland (as it always has,) will have the voice for Scottish independence. Basically they exist for one political gain only. As Trump and Boris proved politics have changed so much in the last 20 years. So much so that I believe anything can happen.

If i'm ever in Edinburgh, i'll give you a shout. If you can hear me and the police don't take me away for shouting, we'll get a pint.

Speculating about the future rarely ends well. It's how bookies got rich. While I understand the appeal of threads like this, and the football thread, where most of the talk is about what is going to happen, I learned a long time ago that I haven't got a clue about what will happen, and I'm certainly not driving this bus, which is why I decided to sit back and enjoy the ride, wherever we go, rather than fret about the destination. It's more fun that way.
I also have problems with hypothetical threads about the past, which ask how you would have reacted in a historical situation, because I immediately think, since whatever I am is essentially the product of the last 70 years, who would I be in 1939, say.
Anyway, that has anything to do with this thread, it's just an excuse for me to present (clever wording, cheers) you with this wonderful* mashup of Ludwig, the Shangs and Shadow
*the record, not the video, obvs - it's just this one had the best sound quality of the four I listened to
A Ty Bong production for Polymath Enterprises
