Incidentally I don't know if the artist for B is Moor Mother or Moor Jewelry, but no matter!

Incidentally I don't know if the artist for B is Moor Mother or Moor Jewelry, but no matter! it's terrible, whoever it is. it's worrying that someone would want to listen to it for fun. entwistle's voice is uncannily similar to townshend's. whoever chose this is flying dangerously close to the canon, but it wins thanks to inferior opposition. The artist for B is Moor Jewelry,a collaboration between Moor Mother and Mental Jewelry. And strangely isn't my pick.

Hmmm...Who outtake that's not one of their better ones vs. Gang of Four imitation that dissolves into noise rock primed to annoy. Tough choice...
I wish A had come up with something a little better, but B doesn't sound like it really cares one way or another whether I dig in or turn it off in disgust. And considering I like the Who a bit more than the real Go4, I'm probably already overthinking this.

I can't imagine I'll vote for a Who track, but I'll listen to it. Nice bass, nice drums (but too much cymbal), the vocals are absolutely twattish, the guitar perfunctory. I dunno what people get out of this, feels like someone repeating a Monty Python skit over shit stadium rock.
Moor Mother is just about the most essential artist currently working, an absolute creative powerhouse storming through hip-hop, poetry, jazz, electronica and apparently punk. Even I can't keep up, I haven't heard this before. Perhaps not the best backing band for her talents, scuzzy hardcore seems a bit dated, but it's an easy win here. B

There's definitely a bit of a Fall influence in B - the rumbling bass, tough drums, shouty vocal. It's OK. I almost hate to say it, but if I knew a bit more about the band and lived with their music a bit longer then I might vote for it tonight. Right now it's 'just another odd little Preludin Cup track'. Good, but no more than that.

is new to me and pretty good for a knockabout outtake from the lads

Oh man, i love many moments of the Who, but this one felt twice as long as it is. I can hear bits of the band i love, but it also has a bit of a sketch feel i can't shake. B breezes past in apunky art rock blur without knocking me out, but if i'm honest i was tapping my toes more to it than A.

Think I've said it before, listening to things like B brings me images of a dentist toolkit. A is at least harmless.

A is ok. Not a bad vocal. Enthusiastic drumming etc
B. Bleak. Horrible vocal. Rudimentary sub-JD drums. Clearly takes itself VERY seriously.
A gets my vote.

Not my favourite tie if I'm honest.
I was pretty underwhelmed by the Who choice. It has a lot of the expected Who components, but they can't quite stop the song from slipping into blandness. B sounds like something you'd hear on Peel in 1981 ( I can imagine him saying "rather bracing I thought!" in his avuncular tones after playing it). I'm not really hearing the innovation DF alludes to. Even at just 2 minutes or so, I found it a chore to get through. Sorry.
