i'm feeling rather agitated by some of the voting.
the first round has been average at best.
having said that, i've discovered al jones, so thanks to the poster who selected that.

It's been great except for that Al Jones song.

I'm a bit disappointed there hasn't been more voting from some of the non-playing Preludin regulars, but there you go. I guess there's still time.

I think it's been a really good start, the fact we haven't had a single youtube clip of a record label is one of the most heartening things so far, proving it hasn't all been geared between 1958 and 1966. Not many obvious names pulled out of the hat, and only that track by The Who being complete dogshit but getting votes.

I'm happy to see how far from canon it's been so far. And a lot of folks going with newer artists.

I think it's terrible everyone didn't vote for my selection..How could people not see the brilliance of my choice ? The opponent should not have received ANY votes.. (Sarcasm definitely intended)

the adjective 'slight' which i introduced in match 2, seems to be the first round's buzzword.

The whole things a fucking farce.
I’m talking of course about Keith’s decision to put the match before the round in the title of the individual threads.
I must say it’s soured the entire thing for me.

I couldn't agree more, nev. I offered him separate sub-boards for every round, but would he take me up on it? Would he buggery? 'ooh, no,' he said in that wafty, airy, patches-on-the-elbows schoolteacher way of his, 'Won't be needing any of that.
And the music's pretty shite ’n’ all

As you ask I did find the creating of sub boards for each round an almost progesque display of unnecessary excess. Why not go the whole hog and create a sub-board for each individual tie!

I'm pleased most are giving a comment. Even if there aren't huge numbers voting, the matches are much entertaining to read over then the endless A,b,A,B,B threads you used to get on BCB.

Voting's pretty close in a number of ties, we may see more draws than usual.
