Anyone have a butchers? Any good? I like the two leads in general but haven't signed up to disney +. It's been getting generally good reviews so I am tempted.

I've been watching it with somebody who is enjoying it. Frankly, I don't get all the praise it's getting. Each episode so far apes a TV sitcom style from the past. while the details of this are very well done in terms of production design and so on - I think there's no way around the fact that I think it's VERY dumb.
the saving grace for me is the weird Lynchian dread which comes right at the end of each episode. Well, something better come of it pretty soon. I guess, one way or the other, the cast is trapped in the TV show universe. this is an interesting idea but they had better do something interesting with it. I've had about all the laugh track and deliberately inane situations I think I can bear in the name of "entertainment"

episode 4 finally kicked it into gear. I'm sticking with it. it's all super complicated now. I don't mind being confused. it beats the hell out of more "Bewitched" type hide your powers jokes.
actually, I might watch this one again. I guess the people running this show have some sort of a plan after all.

The spoofy-ness (Dick Van Dyke, Brady Bunch, etc.,) of the beginning can be a bit perplexing, but definitely worth hanging on through it.
