the less said about B, the better. if i had to envisage whoever chose it, sitting in their front room listening to it full blast, it would be akin to witnessing a car crash.
lady friend is a completely uninspired choice, but is prime byrds. it got lucky here.

That's not a great Byrds pick. But that is a great Clipping track.

An ok Byrds track, but dislike the addition of the horns..
But..There existed an addiction..Far more vital and alive.. Vote B

Both impressive picks, but I find A more pleasant listening.
I think as Byrds choices go it's a reasonably deep one - straddling the line between canon and (at least mildly) obscure that everyone seems to be attempting.
Would've picked B over one of the 'hits', or a less interesting later one, but it's enough to win here.

I'll take my red pill and my green pill and my other green pill and my blue pill then vote for A before I eat a bowl of prunes and take a nap.
the other ain't bad but I'm starting to associate music like that with Life Insurance and cleaning product TV commercials and shit.

That's a pretty good Byrds' song. The other one just makes me think of feeling nervous in a speeding city taxi late at night.

I first heard that Byrds song through a version by the Flamin' Groovies, and I've always liked it. DEfinitely a winner here over a slightly irritating B

A is the sound of The Byrds in excelsis: joyful, exhuberent, brimming with sound. I admire B's singularity more than actually like it. It's not something I can really listen to and enjoy.

I like the mid-'60s Byrds, but this is basically filler: interesting, fine-harmony filler, but nothing's touching my soul today, when one of my favourite people turned 70 (not that that has anything to do with anything other than my increasingly embittered old age). 4/10
I like the samples, especially the vocal one, but not the speed rap or the video. I see from the subtitles (would have been lost without them) that matey's fond of dropping names. Thank dog for my PhD research, as I recognized all of them: not sure they would recognize themselves in this, though, as the sentiments behind it are crap – designer violence. On a personal note, don't care for the use of blood and images of violence, even used metaphorically. Blood inspired more wars than religion. 4/10
A because it didn't lead to an existential crisis

Picking a Byrds track isn't exactly bringing something new to the table, and even though I'm unfamiliar with pretty much everything apart from their cover of "Turn, Turn, Turn", this isn't really bringing much new to me. I guess the main guitar line is nice, but the vocals do nothing for me, and I hate the "I will have to live without her" proggy flourish. Feels a bit like The Monkees falling down a hill.
I bought the first Clipping album basically on the strength of driftin's vague recommendation and the fact I saw it when I was shopping and bored. I really didn't like it much at all. Then I heard this last year, and was pretty impressed and ready to give them another go. I don't know why I didn't, but I 'm also not so sure what I thought was that good about it. I think I still find his rapping style annoying, the ultra-fast bits are fun, but I'm not sure they count as a raison d'etre. Still it's the more interesting pick, and the stronger track here.
