I like the Troggs track, and that *is* a ridiculously obvious Chris Bell pick, but it still has to be A.

finally, what a great tie!
i love the chris bell track and it's been a while since i last heard it.
the troggs track is completely new to me. i had no idea that they were still making great songs in the early 70s. very glam.
tough choice, but B gets my vote because it's new and fresher.

The Bell track just seems to drag on forever..Not my thing..The Troggs track has a good aggro, down and dirty beat to it..More fun..Vote B

Tough pick - really like both a lot. I think the deciding factor here might be that there are probably better and lesser-known Bell picks, whereas this is a deeper Troggs pick, and manages to be a really, really good one.
I'm much more of a Chris Bell fan than I am a Troggs fan, but B is new to me, and much more the kind of thing I like to discover via the cup.

The Troggs thing is violent. I need peace.
It so happens that the Chris Bell fits the bill. It's a wonderful piece of music.

Not a bad Troggs track, and an unexpected one, but lightyears behind Bell's perfect song. One of those tunes that work like a precision mechanism, while maintaining emotional intensity.

Two interesting choices that I'm not totally sold on. A is very beautiful song, but I feel it needed the This Mortal Coil version to reveal how beautiful it was. I'm not wild on Bell's cracked, wavering voice. B gets by on attitude and it has a big personality, as Troggs tracks tended to have. But its a fairly weak song, that's the problem for me here.
For the song A

What a horrible voice. Nah, fuck this. lasted about a minute. A white dwarf rather than a big star. No mark
A late flowering of Morons on Mandrax, and it seems someone has shoved a speed suppository up their arses, which is a goodish thing. I'm not claiming it's art, or music, or even a pleasant listen, but enough to win here. 3/10

My liking the above post does not constitute agreement with it. I just think it's funny.

A new name to me, neither the track nor the voice is familiar to me. He does believe in over-emoting, there's something akin to a modern-day Rod Stewart regarding the cheesiness of his delivery, coupled with the occasional croak. It's slightly queasily nasty, straddling a line between US friendly AOR and really shit folk. An unpleasant stain of a song.
I was hoping that B was at best a deep-dig from The Troggs in their prime, perhaps something as good as "A Girl Like You", just new to me. But this is after their prime, doing a glam cash-in, and it's fucking horrible. The Osmonds meets Mud. Christ, these are the two worst tracks in the cup so far, I think.
Abstain.

Hard to compare these two, but I'll take A.
