I liked A pretty well at the start. But too much jamming!! B not my favorite JB's slice of funk, but at least someone had the good sense to finally bring the funk. I missed it. I anxiously await C***'s skewering of it, however.

never heard of bellaïche before but i loved this selection. not too keen on the vocal parts but musically, it really hit the spot. some nice playing.
i like B well enough, but i would have preferred to have seen a deeper cut.

A is something that I can find done in a much better fashion from many other sources.
B is The JBs, no more need to be said.

Bellyache was ok, reminded me of something soporific one of the lifeless DJs would play late on R6
This one goes to
B however - top-notch fired-up funk

A is right up my street. B is a track that could be one of many JB tracks. Nothing to really set it apart.

One of my favorite JB songs, but A really grew on me even though I tend not to like longer songs.
A, nice pick.

A really had me going at the start, even when the vocals kicked in... but then it went off into some jazz-fusion territory that (at its worst) sounded like a Genesis outtake, and then rambled around that territory for ages. It did start to get interesting again as it went on, at least.
I mean... that's a really obvious track from the JBs, and it's the definition of a safe choice. I love the song, but hate it as a cup choice.
I'll go with A, I suppose.

I've left this to last because I've been ahmming and ahhing about which way to vote.
A was almost fantastic. I loved its textures and moods, however it did get stuck in the same musical refrain for the last three minutes or so. It felt like it either needed to be shorter or develop more if it was going to be that length, and so got stuck between two stools to a degree. But I did really enjoy it and he's a new artist for me. The JBs track is a pretty familiar one as a pick, but it is them close to their best. I love the lazy swing of Fred Wesley's soloing, in particular, here. I don't know...it's a cop out, but I think I'll defer my vote to just before I close it and give it to the one that needs it.

A could be good, but the drummer needs a more nimble touch. He sounds like a rock drummer trying to hard to get into a cool, mellow groove and, sadly, reminds me of myself trying to play the same style. It's a bit too distracting, unfortunately.
Can't say too much about B, really, except that my missus is finally kinda getting good at cooking collard greens. They key is fat. Lots of fat.
