I have enjoyed both tracks a lot. B has more life on it, but the hypnotic nature and the minimal changes going on subtly along A won me over. Nice one.

B is undeniable... but not the most inspired Cup pick. Does A do enough to match it though...? Well, for me it does. It's long but that middle section really drew me in and was most enjoyable. There is a hint of a Mike Oldfieldish, progressive pastoral thing going on, and while that is a minefield usually this track is good example of doing it well. Cheers.

A is nicely floating around not getting anywhere, but neither does B, which is just another JB track to me.
Hmmm...
I'll say A because I'm presently in that state of mind.

Lots of finger picking ornate folk guitar at the start of A, which is a good thing. The very 70s vocal is a bit unnecessary, but it's a luckily rarely been used so far. I know it's called "Sea Flourescent" but I hate cymbals being used to represent waves, it's a really cheesy thing to do. Not as cheesy as that random bit of birdsong though. Cripes, it goes on a bit, this is a disappointing turn of lack of events. Well, I did like that bit of foly guitar before it went through the same lite-jazz-fusion workout 97 times.
B's a boring pick that's been used in previous cups, and was better used by Eric B and Rakim.

I really like A, even with the hothouse birds. A good and surprising pick. I’m a little burned out on B, classic track though it is. So I’ll go for the fresh and fluorescent

Is this possibly a Rayge (bad) dream tie? Frog prog vs funk? Maybe a flute, a cowbell, or a wah wah pedal to raise it to the level of nightmare? Oh well, peg on nose, time to listen.
That brief vocal interjection was horrible, let's hope he keeps it shut for the rest of the - gulp - seven minutes. Fuck me, this is tedious. There's the odd sparkly, treble sound that has a claim to transient crystalline prettiness, and it's never actually unpleasant, but ultimately it's going nowhere slowly, and I find myself in the rare position of agreeing musically with T Willy Rye.
not having the Godfather of Grunt strutting about showing off his sex-face is a definite plus, as is letting the horn-players loose to play notes rather than percussive farts. I know I'm not too hot on theory, but isn't funk all about The One? This one seemed to have much more of a backbeat, but I'll leave that pancake for the drummers among you to parse.
So, basically two instrumental jams with ill-mannered shouting, but on the whole, sod it,
