I liked The Rumour song quite a bit. Straightforward, nothing too complex going on there and I have never heard of them before. Good pick.
Well, not sure if I should feel embarrassed or not but I've also never listened to a T.Rex album. This choice has definitely made me want to change that soon.

The groove of the T.Rex track makes the first seem pithy..The Rumours track is ok, if a bit lightweight, but suffers in comparison..Good, jaunty, almost funky, lead track off one of the two T.Rex albums I've explored..Vote B

this is a pretty tough tie to vote on. mambo sun is canon, but not one of my favourites. of course, it's good but a very uninspired choice.
i wanted to love A more than i did. it isn't bad but i have to SOIL MYSELF and go for the obvious B

I love B - but then again, who doesn't around here? It's about as safe a safe choice as one could make in the cup.
Which is why I'm going to vote for A. It's new to me, and I like it! It's got a great Buddy Holly groove to it, and I'm here for it.

Dilemma. I guess I have to go with B, ultimately, being 'the better song' and all, but A's a good, and less predictable choice (other than the fact that I have really, really strong suspicions who picked it).
I almost want to throw A a vote; B's great (and one of the better songs off EW) but I wish people wouldn't treat that as the only classic T-Rex album - personally I prefer the ones before and after it.
I might come back to this if it gets close, but I suspect A will get slammed anyway. It deserves better.

A is terribly flimsy power pop, one of the worst examples I've heard - and it's a genre that throws up some awful pap. Slowed down and beefed up, with a more idiosyncratic vocal, it might have held my attention for more than 10 seconds. As it is? sorry, not sure why this was even put forward.
Pretty good T Rex number making a virtue out of (mostly) two chords and a ridiculous voc/lyric. There are better tracks on that album, but this one is a clear winner here

I don't want to vote for T Rex in a cup, but Shakin' Stevens would baulk at doing a rock n' roll pastiche as lame as this. Makes Showaddywaddy sound like The Gerogerigegege.
I don't want to vote for T Rex, and I'm not going to. It's not interesting enough a song in its own right, and it's a really lame canon pick.
Abstain.

A could have used your support. I admire you for sticking to your guns.

Same reasons to vote A as Nolamike. I don't usually hold obvious picks against anyone, but this seems so "strategically manipulative."
It reminds me of the cup where multiple people chose Hey, Bulldog for the cup, as well as myself. I thought I was being so fucking clever too.

I can't really get behind A so I will jump on the bandwagon, but B should try a little harder.

B is fine. of course, although more for the sound than for the song. But as a cup pick it sounds like a calculated tactic rather than an honest one. A is a well crafted Nick Lowe tune done by his pal Brinsley Schwartz and friends, an act that deserves much more attention than a foot note as Graham Parker backing band IMO. Sure lightweight and very much of its time, but it's a time that I recall very fondly. A
