I like B more than A - that's all there is to it.

A sounds like Rockpile or some shit like that.
I don't know what kind of magic dust Visconti carried around in his pockets, but fuck those T Rex tracks sounded amazing. This is Marc at his mischievous impish best, and is an absolute joy.

A is appalling. What decade was this shit served up in? The throwback rock n roll I liked as a very small boy (Showaddywaddywaddywaddy and The Darts etc) was fun and Dave Bartram had a twinkle in his eye and a wry smile.
B isn't great. I don't like MB's voice much, but osgood's comment about 'the sound' is spot on.

Doesn't sound remotely like Rockpile and it's nothing whatseover to do with rock & roll revivalism. It's at the poppier end of 70s pub rock, as Osgood points out. I never could stand Graham Parker, so I ignored the Rumour - never knew, or had forgotten, that Brinsley S was part of the band – and this is better than anything I heard from them with GP out front 5/10
I was a huge fan of Tyrannosaurus and T Rex, but I got off the bus after Electric Warrior as Marc disappeared up his own arse and started tailoring his material to kiddiwinks. I liked EW well enough as a career culmination, but I thought this was one of the least distinguished tracks 4.5/10

Dave Edmunds was a rock/R&B guitarist who liked soloing and instrumentals, and really relished working in the studio making big sounds. Yes, he had some pop success (couple of number ones? - can't be bothered to look up) with updated/rocked-out covers of 50s R&B an rock & roll, but he wasn't pop-country with a Beatle-ish/ streak like the Brinsleys, Nick Lowe, Ducks DeLuxe and others (really, the Feelgoods were out on their own in that scene with the heavy R&B sound revived some fifties rockers). Also, while Rockpileincluded a couple of pub rock alumni in Lowe and Billy Bremner, they didn't actually start as a formal band until punk happened and pub rock as a scene was over.

I don't want to argue the toss about genre on a song as gut-wrenchingly feeble as A, but it still sounds like a shit Showaddywaddy to me.

AS Showaddywaddy were easily the shittest band to have hits in England ever, that's a pretty extreme statement. I'd rather listen to Current 93 than those gurning, sneering talentless cunts .

A is a pub rocker. B has got a bit more élan and panache in the general joie de vivre département. Oui, c’est B

Same reasons to vote A as Nolamike. I don't usually hold obvious picks against anyone, but this seems so "strategically manipulative." It reminds me of the cup where multiple people chose Hey, Bulldog for the cup, as well as myself. I thought I was being so fucking clever too. I've been wanting to ask: how was this "strategically manipulative."
