The Lotic track seems to last longer than it does. 3min felt like 5. Really a bit sick of overproduced music videos as well. However, as uplifting as B is, or tries to be, and as lovely as I'm sure Syreeta (what a name!) is, I have no desire to hear this song from her again.

i find both selections repellent. B is closer to my ball-park but not enough for it to garner my vote.

I love that Syreeta track - I love the whole album, in fact, and I'm surprised to see some naysayers. I mean, it's peak era Stevie Wonder doing what peak era Stevie did, and Syreeta's no slouch on vocals.
So that's why it may be surprising that I'm voting for A. Lotic is new to me, and now I'm curious to check out more. It's like goth R&B with some musique concrete flourishes that sneak in more and more as the song progresses. Very cool, and kudos to whoever picked it.

Interesting match - A is very much 'not my kind of thing' but it is unique and intriguing - just maybe not that pleasant to listen to. But, I agree with Mike's kudos - it's something I would have likely dismissed out of hand if I had it described to me (particularly since there's apparently a Bjork connection), but having heard it I can give it at least a tentative nod of support.
B is from an album I discovered pretty early on - I was a huge Stevie Wonder fan as a kid, during his prime. Side one in particular is a great listen - songs are banded pretty closely together, like a suite, and it's full of forward motion. As a result it sounds slightly jarring on its own, but it's definitely the better song here, as well as being another clever 'canon-adjacent, but not too obvious' pick.

Old fart time....A just made me think, yet again, that I really do not like 'modern music'. It's all dressing and no salad. I don't have time for this kind of thing, sorry. That's all.
The Syreeta track was a busy fucking thing, wasn't it? Not bad - but I think I've heard better by her.

Someone's had the gall to pick something modern? What a bastard. Really interesting track this one, a slow builder that seems to take plenty of cues from the short-lived witch-house scene, with the whispered vocals with stabs of amtospheric electronics, the clickety-clack minimal percussion. The way the middle-section is pieced together with musique-concrete/plunderphonic techniques. Inventive and atmospheric stuff, I'm intrigued. Definitely the most interesting new name to me of the cup, I tilt my titfer in the direction of whoever picked this one.
Sorry, Ryvita, you don't stand a chance in this tie. Shame as it's a lovely upbeat number, and a clever way of sneaking a canon name into the cup without actually being a Stevie track. Could've go my vote in other ties, but it's up against a slice of pure Fishnip.

I like 'em both. In fact, I'm glad I watched them one after the other. it was like watching a movie. the first song underlines the disturbing but powerful final scene of our movie then B shows up over the end credits so we'll be humming when we leave the theater.
In all honesty I'd like the first choice a lot better without the vid. I tried the blindfold test just out of fairness. it was too late. the damage had been done.

A is surely coming from one of the usual suspects, and since I am a nice guy, same as them, I have played it till the end. You're wellcome.
B is a pleasant pick that does more than needed to win here, and it deserves some further exploring that I won't probably do.

A is interesting but there's not much for me to grab on to - a hint of a melody line might've been enough for it to win this tie, but...oh well.

A's just a bit unpleasant really, grim and monotonous and the video hardly helps. I'm not too fussed about the song in B, which is overcooked gospel, but it's a hell of a performance and production. I needed uplifting after A and it did it.

And some of you guys point at the blues and say it's monotonous, yet you'll praise A [insert eye roll emoji here].
A is ok, a moody minimalist tune that over relies on the video, but is so emperor's new clothes it's almost painful. B is fun and bouncy and an easy winner here for me. I probably would have picked a different tune by her but it's all good.

And emperor's new clothes is a lame attack on a site where only old clothes are ever seen.
