I loved the Grape, wonderful guitars and harmonies; their peaks never quite touched those of the Airplane, but they never got close to matching the latter's troughs, either. This is short, sharp and gets it over with. I don't know why hatz thinks everyone assumes Spence is the star. He was always the weak link for me, a drummer who got lucky. Not my favourite from the album, nor the shortest, but still excellent and outstanding in its time and place.
As unfamiliar as A is familiar. First impressions, drums TOO LOUD, music too Beatlish, then self-consciously whacky - oh, here comes the kitchen sink. Guitar solo! The drums are still TOO FUCKING LOUD, though. They're not on Wiki so I looked them up on discogs, and FUCK ME they're Danish! From 1970. Does Googa know? Well, I listened to it all, and in the end it came over as a cut and paste job of several late 60s luminaries.
Nah, I gave up bacon five years ago. I'll stick with A

A might be the weakest track on Moby Grape's debut, not much of a song really.
B is lovely... and there's even cowbell in the wig-out halfway through. Fabulous

Great pick from neige here. Glad it was close anyway.
