Not what I was expecting. It's all clatter and thump, isn't it? Tom Waits has a lot to answer for, although this feller gives decent (if unintelligible) vocal. Ultimately annoying.
This got some interesting reviews in the music press when it came out, and that, and the fact that it was the first release on a new label, made me toddle off and buy a copy of the 7-inch. I thought it was decent, a lot like the first Primal Scream album or Felt, but no trees were uprooted. I played it a few times then filed it away, complete with its inserts, just in case it got to be valuable later. Sold it a few years ago for north of £200. I got to really like Sarah and their embrace of Twee: along with the stoner rock of the magnificent The Heads, it was the real sound of Bristol (then my home town) in the nineties, rather than that trip-hop bilge. It turns out this wasn't really representative of the label, but it's enough to beat the sound of a moose tripping over a bag of spanners and falling down a fire escape, so
