It's difficult to know whether to criticise A for going for something canon, or for picking an artist that generally gets a good kicking around here. No More Shall We Part is probably the last classic Bad Seeds album, Nocturama was crap and Blixa left afterwards. This is one of the stronger songs from it, that little piano motif being the real hook for me, the light in the darkness and all that.
Debby Friday sounds very much influenced more by Atari Teenage Riot than gabba or happy hardcore directly, there's a lot of Hanin Elias about the production aesthetic and the vocal style, particularly the material after she first left the band. A's a stronger song, but a less interesting pick, and less left-field.

Ooh, I see she recorded a track with Lana Del Rabies, too. Interesting stuff, I'm surprised I never heard of her before now.

Nice catch.
Check out the short film she made.

A seems to encapsulate why Nick Cave has never grabbed me, even though I like it more than some of his other stuff.
B isn't anywhere near as crazy or exciting as it seems to think it is.
Eh... I'll give it to the lesser-known artist.

I could throw back a couple of beers next time I hear Betty's. I think Nick Cave owes John Cale MONEY but there are worse things in this world. I think it's a decent enough song that I can pretend I never saw all that dancing.

I am a fan of NC until at least the mid-90s, but after that 8/10 times his music just feels like Nick Cave-by-numbers, you know? Nick Cave®™. Nick Cave Pty. Ltd. Not eveything, but most of it for me. I hope he's doing well, but he doesn't really speak to me any more in a fresh way. B... well, it's not really my thing or totally fresh either, but it's ok and interesting enough for my vote.

I like that Kazakh line-dancing thing they did in A. The song’s fair to middling with the occasional high points. I didn’t entirely dislike B but… nah.

Won't pretend I enjoyed either of these - basically I don't enjoy music of any kind much any more, with a few hallowed and occasional exceptions - but I found B less of a waste of my time

I prefer the first half of A to the adlib at the end, especially the trickling piano motif, but unlike most here, I do have much time for Nick Cave.
The sound of B is really ugly, it isn't something I'd choose to listen to for fun, but that was quite an experience... cheers!

All of Dayodead's picks that I like always seem to lose.

A very bad Preludin precedent has been set.
So far Nick “fucking” Cave has been conspicuous by his absence but now the cup floodgates have been opened to the “delights” of the bogan dark lord.
Strewth!
