I knew B was gonna get my vote from first glance, but it's nice to know it's pretty cool. Hazelwood production?
No offense to A, and maybe it's the choice of someone who hasn't heard it at least 1,000 times on oldies radio. But the fact that I didn't even choose to listen (I can play it in my head any time I need to) says it all.
Weird that there are TWO picks with Frosty on drums this round (if I'm right about that).

A was cool, I like songs like this that just smile at you, big open-hearted thing, not aiming for much more than entertainment. You can imagine a massive crowd singing along and this dude loving every minute. Genuinely lots to love there, and I really like the break in the middle
But Duane at his best? come on! altho' kind of silly, really, but that guitar sound is something to build a kingdom on. So much fun. The vocals are glorious. Love it to pieces, a minor miracle

I'm sorry but A sounded awful to me. The sounds are just horrible, and it's just too repetitive. I'm surprised to discover it's from '71 and not '81. If it had been done a bit more organically by someone like the Faces it might've stood a chance. Maybe. B is good fun and some of the lines made me smile - especially "Hey, everybody, It's just about a quarter to two, but before they shut that door, there's somethin' we just gotta do...............................we gotta dance" Easy B. A was the worst pick for me in this round.

i wasn't offended by A but although it's not something i've heard before, it does have a bland 70s american rock feel about it.
the eddy selection was ok, certainly not a prime pick but enough to win here.

A comes across like a bargain basement Springsteen. Those keyboards/organ are really horrible. Sorry, not for me. B is a little too polite for me to get too excited by it, but it's fine for what it is.

Yeah, A is a bit Rod Stewart backed by Huey Lewis and the News, though it's the second track this cup to bring in the tiny extraneous harpsichord for a bit of exoticism. Must be more familiar to the yanks than to the UK, because I've never head of the geezer before in my life.
B's every bit as cheesy, and those vocals are more irritating if anything. Sounds like something from Play Away, or a dance segment in Sesame Street where they introduce toddlers to rock n' roll. Really fucking horrible.

Was this a hit in the US, because i'm almost certain i've never heard it before. It's fun in a 70s radio way, a simple tune that tries to get the most out of its hooks and the performance. But it's just not strong enough to heat B here, strong fange wheelhouse material.
