Strange that this is the one time I'm thinking of voting for the preludin comfort-blanket, and the usual suspects are voting against it. This is probably the strongest of all this kind of thing yet chosen here, those guitar stabs are wonderful, and the bass really has a kick to it.
B looks like the most prog-goon pick in the cup so far, so why are people voting for it? It's obscure, but also pretty rank. Barclay James Harvest collaborating with Santana and sanatogen. Bloody awful.

B sounds to me like Steve Miller attempting to rip off "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" and failing miserably. It just never delivers its promise.
I can't really fault A. It's a great tune.

I've heard this before, not as often as some, but was never overwhelmed by it. Work(wo)manlike vocals, and it stands or falls on that burbling rhythm/backing/some other 'musical' term.
SC may have come out of the SF scene, but they were never typical of the sound. I only knew their first album, which sounded more like the Spoonful than the Airplane. Apparently, they broke up soon after it was released, then got together again a few years later and made this, which is new to me. And yes, there's a flute (or possibly a recorder or even a clarinet, the sound on this laptop is a bit pants), but it fits in here. The vocals are a mystery, but it floats on by in a pleasant, if inconsequential, way that better suits my mood on this gloomy, wet and windy day as Scrap and I dry out by the radiator.

I’m burned out on A I'm afraid. B's good enough.

A is pretty standard fare, and it gets repetitive
B is more my thing
