A was good but a bit 'military' - lacked the silliness that characterises the best (for me) of this genre
B is just a joy, one of the highlights of Pebbles vol.3

Tough call - like both. A is good and unfamiliar, but as JC says, maybe a bit tame compared to the best of the stuff.
B is really just a goofy Doors imitation, and not one of my favorites on Pebbles 3, but I do love that release, and head-to-head it just seems to have a bit more invention and variation in a similar amount of time.

finally, a tie i can get my teeth into.
B is novelty toy town garage punk. the sort of song a CLOWN would enter to at a circus.
A is a guitar masterclass from glen campbell. a wonderful delinquent guitar tone. it's like taking a switchblade to a fist fight. raw and lean.

A's got some damn toe tapping goodness, and the drumming is a blast! Finally some Glen Campbell I can really get behind!
If I ever wondered what it would sound like to hear Jim Morrison singing while a hungry cat meows angrily at him from the sofa, B would provide the answer. At least it's short.

Hmm. I guess this is ok in a surf-ish Shadows kinda fashion. You'd expect it to turn up in a Tarantino film, might've been interesting in its day.
B has a bit of guitar attack to start, but that might've been just because the volume was set too loud. But then it's very Doorsy.
A very beige round this one. Nothing to start any fires. I might come back to see if I feel less jaded by such things at some later point.

A is a fantastic pick with its driving drums (Hal Blaine?) and slashing, switchblade guitar. One of the best picks in the whole competition I'd say. B is okay. I have it on a few garage/psych comps but it's never made much impression on me. One of those ones that doesn't really transcend its genre.

I didn't realize Campbell was involved in the 1st pick since I just listened to it here on my phone. I should pay more attention. Glad you guys pointed it out. A groovy number for sure.

A easy. Like Dave writes, B is just a Doors homage.

Good match. Although B is enjoyable, nice guitar and organ, A is the kind of early-60s rockin nugget that really lights my fire.
