www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-56191980I don't know how i feel about this, it's my favorite sitcom of all time. Would the same type of comedy still work today? I mean roseanne/the connors is still going i think, and will and grace had a good comeback season, but this is the mighty "Frasier". I'm nervous.

Well, reading the article, it's the character, not the show, that's returning. Kelsey Grammer is in his mid-60s, and they will have to find a new format, I think - no way is he still going to be hosting a radio show, Ros still hunting men, etc. Even the kid who played Frederick is 30-odd now.
I think Grammer might be looking to regain his longest-time-playing-one-character crown from Richard Belzer and Mariska Hargitay

Yeah I think so. Comedy hasn't changed that much. It will come down to how good the new scripts are. They could bring in some new characters as well. IMO the only essential characters are Frazier (obviously) and his brother Niles.

I kinda assumed that they'd do something like Roz is either married or divorced, Frasier is in private practice, something like that. I think the son Freddie could take over for Marty as the antagonist at the start. Mahoney will be greatly missed though.

I loved it so much. I still watch the repeats in the morning. Wonderful stuff even if it did lose it towards the end.

It's very TALKY, isn't it? I was always waiting for someone to fall on their arse or something so I could get a big simpleton laugh - but no

Thinking more Frasier trying to get to grips with millennial type thing.

I hope he freaks out on Twitter, gets cancelled and the show goes on without him.

Bad idea..Kelsey is going to realize real quick how important the writers and creative team of Angell, Lee and Casey were to the previous iteration..Also, if Hyde-Pierce, Gilpen and Leeves are not involved, he's doomed. The show only worked because of their ability to play off each other. 'Frasier' left things in a perfect place for the characters and should stay that way..

I'd be less inclined to watch if Hyde-Pierce, Gilpen and Leeves isn't involved.

I'd watch it if it took place after his retirement and he spent his days sitting at a bar with Norm and Cliff.
