I think he's dragged it on for far too long.
The two BBC2 series in 00/01 are perfect, just as the Office is too.
Retire it. It is funny but I feel it is wearing thin.

I've never been a big fan but I've enjoyed these shows. It's like he's distilled all the best ideas.
That last line there is absolute genius, just beautiful.

It does look like he's milking it a bit.

I found this less funny than the early stuff. Quite dense and wordy and I miss the likes of Michael.
Probably better on repeat viewing but I will certainly be watching this. The lass is very cute too...dayum.

The unfunny trailer they keep showing is putting me off. I'm with Toby really, but I might give it a watch just to give it a chance.

Fair enough if you think it's unfunny, but there are about four LOL moments there alone.

At least people now think all Irish say "Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey" instead of "top of the morning" and "begorrah".

Fair enough if you think it's unfunny, but there are about four LOL moments there alone. Really?? 1. 'we do it in 40 - thanks Rachel' 2. 'emerging from the door to my right is...' 3. 'hi Nathan, Jermaine, Shawna and Trent' (just glorious, this) 4. and that last line (which I must have watched 18 times now) I mean it's all subtle stuff but as far as satirising the inanity of daytime TV goes it's absolutely perfect. The absurdity is there but they never take it too far, it's still believable. And it must have been a fucker to get right in terms of timing - that walk down the corridor must have needed several takes. My admiration for Coogan grows and grows. It's interesting to see how nervous and verbose he is in the interview I posted. And that's the first time I've seen him giving in to his age, actually - he looks thin, grey, the glasses are on. Usually in the past he's gone for a slightly more dishevelled 'sexy ad man' kind of look, even in the recent The Trip. I'm going to see what CaB have to say now.
