I think you've formed an impression on him that has no relation to reality, perhaps you're getting him mixed up with Lenny Henry's impression of him! I've talked about him to other people and they often have the same impression as me.
I do admire his achievement in becoming a prominent black person doing something so august and authorative as read the news. That's a genuine achievement. But as a person he's not particularly likable, no warmth there at all.

The problem here is that G seems to be confusing him with one of the old Nazi leaders. Goebbels, perhaps, or Rudolf Hess. |
