Devoid of vocals bar a short burst on the track Kommunikation and a spoken sentence in the opening track LJO presents .... Gila (free electric sound). Happily, now much easier to hear thanks to the internet. What are you getting? You tell me. Floyd like hippie noodling and primitive living room sized synths making UFO/space noise. Bury my heart at wounded knee the follow up is better known but that Gila isn't this Gila. I love this with all my heart and I cannot tell you why. I guess there are hundreds of albums like this . It is only thirty minutes or so long and later in the week I will post more. Some may be fake bands and some are jazzy and some trippy. Apologies if you already know them . Enjoy and if you like them or not "I really wanna see them hands"

Mixed feelings about this sort of thing, Jimmy. Like it but don't love it. Went through a stage about 15 years ago, bought Agitation Free, Guru Guru, Embryo CDs like they were going out of fashion. Now they (mostly) don't sound very distinguished.
I'll leave this playing while I make my supper and see if it flips my lid again.

I don't know if I'll bother with very much actually Adam. I just wandered down to WHITEHAVEN'S CONTINENTAL MARKET (in the rain) and bought some baklava and a gyros (which I'm eating now) a LIGHTE SNACKE later will suffice

Then again I slap a former favourite gem on and realise why I found it so alluring in the first place. I couldn't and don't listen to this stuff all the time.

If you are a fan of Gila, I'd be surprised if you weren't a fan of this:
Lava - Tears Are Goin' Home (1973)

It's a bit too rooted in the rock tradition for me. Haven't listened to it all yet though. The opening track's proggy synth jam put me off. I can imagine this being played on one of the morning slots at the Download Festival, a band doing their big spacey patchouli scented sweaty epics to a crowd of four while a few drunks stumble past.

I may have posted this before. Released in 1978 and tragically killed before his obvious genius was allowed to flourish . LJO presents the sound of your summer. All killer and no filler. Actually the opening track is the weakest, please do try to give it some time. Thank you.

Wasn't there some tragedy involved here, if I remember right?

No harm meant, just sharing some enthusiasm, it is a music board after all. Thought it might be a conversation rather something didactic. Carry on. (like my buddy skope you may find I am usually the only one who shares similar likes LOL)
