Not sure what's causing such offence here. A is slap bang in my house of wheels, that percussion is the distilled essence of the 1982 underground, very Portion Control/Cabaret Voltaire. The vocals are a bit rubbish, but I like the overall feel.
B is a spiky power-pop new wave thing, very Rezillos, and quite catchy, could well have fit onto The Sound of The Suburbs kinda comp. Like most of that stuff, it's also fluff that you don't want to hear too often. Candyfloss.

Not sure what's causing such offence here. A Causing offence, or at least the suggestion of it, is the unstoppable beating heart of the Cups, fishy. How can you act like you don't know that?! 🤬

it's the worst tie of the round, let's not beat about the bush.
i just hope that one of them was picked by ray's alias, at least that would go someway to explaining it.

The Pixies vs PP Arnold is the worst tie so far, talk about boring, safe choices. And there's a skope-off I haven't listened to yet, with undoubtedly tedious 2nd rate 60s bands.

You're as narrow minded as Skope though when it comes to dismissing whole genres. You see a soul or psych track from the 60s and decide immediately it's going to be shit.

Let's face it, they're all terrible; music is a sham, taste is a myth, death our only destination.

You're as narrow minded as Skope though when it comes to dismissing whole genres. i resent that, G. there are very few genres i dislike, although i admit most of them happen to be post 80s. in the first round alone, i have dished out votes to the following genres (in order): PROG, oi, freakbeat, avant garde, obscure 80s japanese synth, soul, junk shop glam, folk, soundtrack and progressive folk. that's a pretty broad spectrum.

Interesting that it's Japanese, the influences sound very much European min wave/EBM.
