So according to previous posters, A is a good sample of the Residents greatness. Good to know. To me it's still a mystery what people find in them, and A is no exception.
B is my suicidal PRELUDING Cup pick, not that its result is going to be much different to some of my other picks, mind. Far too long, too musical and too American for most of the fellow preludiners. A track that I have known for ages, and listened many times without ever getting tired of. Its layered guitars harmonizing, its slow path, the singing (yes, the singing) everything in it works fantastically for me. I could listen to stuff like this for hours. But I knew it was bound to be butchered. Consider it a statement.

I thought the Cooder track was quite nice, but a bit too long unfortunately. Really lovely guitar playing throughout - not showing off, nor resting on root chords. Good stuff.
The Residents' tune is fun. I like the Moondog-esque backing track and Skinny's 'story' is a good one. My one quibble is with the line about selling the 'Hello Dolly' record to the truck driver in..the..fall. If I had written it, I would've gone with something something long haul. My two cents.

Residents
Ah the band for jaded perverts who’ve listened to the entire Zappa catalog and found it wanting on the smug/wacky scale. Mind you, I like WEEN.
Ry
No real reference for this stuff at all, might as well be Papa Nez tuning up.

It is an obvious Residents choice from one of the greatest albums ever made but it's a doozy. The video is perfect too.
