i'm a bit worn out of all the jazz selections, especially the long ones. Yeah, because there have been so many of them.

I'll remember that next time a garage rock track comes up, skopey. I will indeed... although there haven't been so many of them either, have there... and there wouldn't be many more, right...

I prefer this version of Hardy to the accordion led one. Agree with hatz, he was one of the greats at letting the song speak for itself.
Shamefully I only really know Morgan for Sidewinder. That's a strong piece and would have had my vote in most other rounds.

I didn’t like A much, but B has a lot to like about it. It’s a new one for me. When was it released? I’m guessing late 60s, maybe Miles was taking a break. I can’t say I’ve heard of Billy Higgins-I should spend more time reading the liner notes.
Just googled Higgins. I really should read those liner notes! He’s on a ton of stuff I’ve listened to-the Ornette stuff in particular. BTW this album recorded in 64, but released a couple of years later.

A good tie. A is powerful stuff that can hold an airport terminal let alone a room. B is cool and crisp like a pair of deep-frozen pyjamas in a heatwave. Only just but

I can only echo what has been said
Several ties have left me totally cold in this round, then we get these two!!
Instead of tossing a coin, I'll say B, because it's longer, more going on, more to enjoy.

Nope, don't fancy listening to either of these. Never was much interested in Leadbelly - the folkies touted him as some kind of god when I was a wean, and I could never hear it. And transcendental or not, I'm done with long jazz pieces. I just don't speak the language.

My WHEELHOUSE is several miles away from this one.
