B is prime garage punk and the ducklings are probably the best band to come out of canada after the dickens.
A is not bad and would probably have got my vote had it been drawn against most of what i've seen so far in the round. unlucky.

I like both but having a UK band doing Monster Movie in 1971 is pretty impressive. A

Big surprises, both. A not at all what I expected from UFO. Slight, ultimately, but they cut loose nicely without the wheedly-woo you usually expect from them.
Was surprised to find B is actually vintage. It's so 'by numbers' and lacking in the wildness you get from this stuff at its best that I assumed it was recent. Sounds like soundtrack music done for a youthploitation movie. And not in a good way. Meh.

But A

A seems to be coming from a similar place to Hawkwind and Social Deviants, hairy street rock with attitude. I liked it, they were riffing as if their lives depended upon it, it had intent.Pass the Quaaludes man. B is has a great, tough sound too. The song is a little too generic for it to stand out from its genre, but the energy of the performance is the real pay off here. Good tie...B

Space is the place but I’m going B by virtue of that gnarly Dave Davies-esque guitar wrangling.

A was nice but at 1:12 they omitted the part that goes "communication breakdown, it's always the same".
B is pretty generic but just edges this tie

Wannabe Stones (B), or good old fashioned Rock music?
A wins, because I've heard too much of the garage stuff recently. UFO have always been slightly beyond my radar, but this was pretty good. the backstory for this track is fun.

I'd have preferred one of the long tracks off UFO 2, but A still wins the riffing contest.

I don't know if I've ever heard a UFO track before. I thought they had a German singer, who the hell did I mix them up with? This is very Hawkwind vocally, but musically much duller, riffing away fairly tamely like Led Zep or something. Wish it did sound anything like Monster Movie. Getting a BBC snooker theme vibe from the guitar solo though, which is a positive in this context. Very ordinary though, weren't it?
Yay, a failed Stones thing. Dunno what to say about this, it's no Ulver, is it? It's another garage rock track, just like A is another hard rock track. I don't really know what to do with either of these tracks, they're kind of competent things that were done better by the famous guys. Singing catch a falling star like that was really lame though, I felt kinda embarassed for the guy there.
Abstain? Yeah, I think so.

We are having a nice backlash going on here with the Undertones, cod reggae, etc., failing. So keep the momentum going ... Vote A against skope.

No, I'm not voting against any particular poster, just the terrible choices. These two lumps of low ambition are equivalent in my eyes.

A was a lumpy, generic thing.
B has more spark and is naturally more up my street but I'm a bit bored of these substandard garage rock picks.
