Nothing earthshaking in either pick, both seem to be a sound in search of a song. I'll go for the yatch rock piece, nicer as background music.

Always liked the Q even though I'm not a fan of roots rock or power pop. A wasn't bad, but if my 14 year old self caught myself typing that, he'd kick me in the balls. B

A is nicely put together. not much of a song. I didn't notice if B was much of a song or not. I was too busy RAWKING out.

A
Better than I thought it'd be
I only really love the first album incarnation, Ludlow, of NRBQ, after that it is this haphazard band that operated like a East Coast bar band Grateful Dead.

I do have a soft spot for that kind of Doobies yacht rock sound. This had that in abundance. Would have liked a stronger song, but I could really dig its feather light funkiness and marshmallow sound. Reading NRBQ's wiki entry, they have an interesting history, so I was expecting a bit more than stadium stodge. This makes Grand Funk Railroad sound like Stockhausen. Disappointing.

I will say I liked A more than expected. I guess I have a soft spot for those kinds of arrangements too. But there's not that much there, really.
B is just full-on poptastic, full of musical twists and turns, and a really slippery groove informed by equal parts AM Radio and avant-funk. They are indeed a bar band. For my money, they're the greatest bar band ever.

I like both ok without being earth-shattering. A tickles my yacht rock soft spot a bit so will go with it.

I thought A was going to be some amateurish Tangerine Dream tribute from the opening, so it's surprising to hear it rapidly take a turn for the worse. That wretched synth effect hangs around throughout, and its by no means the worst part of the song. A big bag of not my thing, take it away and burn it.
What the hell, this sounds like a Status Quo b-side. Absolutely dreadful. Why on earth would you choose to listen to either of these things?
Abstain. Feel like I need a long bath to get clean.

Both of these have sapped my will to say much about either, other than B would've been better served by a drummer who could swing even just a little bit.
I dunno, it's another coin toss...
