Grew up with A, it is good, and has won in other times, but
B is much newer than 50 years, and a really enjoyable album

It's gonna be A for sure regardless, even though that's not in my top 20 Nazz songs (and I think they had less than 50 all told). Such a great band.
But I'll defend B as a brave choice. And musically, yeah, it's kind of ordinary. But it's not their fault they're famous. You can clearly tell by their performances that they're choosing this particular song because they love it. Won't replace the originals, of course, but it's an open-hearted, engaging tribute. Lots (again) in this round that I would have voted for it over.

Not keen on A's blaring sound and am not a fan of the band/Rundgren generally. B is pleasantly sung..but I can't think of much more to say. This tie isn't really exciting me.

*Warning, picky comment: Not sure B should be admitted under N, the label states Billy Joe + Norah, and, according to wiki, the album, a remake of the Everlys Songs Our Daddy Tought Us, was Billy Joe's project.
Anyway it's a nice rendition with that harp being a classy touch. It pushes the listener to go to the original which is the ultimate intention of these things. Although in this case the original (Everlys) is not even the original (Traditional, fuck knows who recorded it first).
Anyway not a real competitor against that Nazz track. I have not heard anything from them that I don't like .

That's one of Nazz's best songs - if Hatz really can name 20 better I'd love to hear them! It's lively, punchy, funny, and catchy - just the ticket.
I was ready to hate B but actually they do a fine job, as others have said it's clear they love the song and their hearts really are in it. But I still find myself wondering why...

i've never got the appeal of the nazz. on paper, they should be right up my street. even their track on nuggets is one of my least favourites.
since B is credited as billie joe armstrong, i DO wonder if this is another one ray has let slip through the net. i found it pleasant, if a little unmemorable.

A sucks and B is not an "N" song (Billie Joe + Nora)..ABSTAIN
Why not just pick a Nora Jones song outright ?

Nazz seems to be an entirely lifeless example of a "this will do" album filler from the late 60s. The drummer IS good though, it's a pity no-one else turned up to do anything worthwhile. Rhyming "along" with "long" is reallllly shit, too.
Even if B doesn't qualify for this cup, I'd like my vote to count, I feel very strongly about this.
Abstain.

I like both of these, actually. RIP Don - B triggers an enjoyable stroll down memory lane, while A is... well, an enjoyable stroll down memory lane too. Maybe just, A.

I've never really liked that particular Nazz tune and the LP it comes from isn't terribly strong either, so I'm giving it to B, which is pleasant enough.

I'm having problems with this choice, they're both ok but nothing special.Ill discount B because I've heard a few versions of this song and this particular version doesn't really bring anything new to the party.

Never 'got' TR: I tried, I really did. I thought this was undistinguished, and found the organ sound actively annoying and the clatterbunny behind the kit... Nah, miss
I agree this was a rule bender, breaker even, but it's not going to affect the result. I wasn't particularly impressed, Everly tune or not, although I do like me a mouth organ. Not much, but enough
