Nucleus
Ian Carr could do no wrong in my ears THO this group were inconsistent. This is a goodie, progressive is the word.
Neko
First thing I’ve heard by her (Uncut’s wide-on for all things alt-country’s and adjacent put me off) and this is rather nice, a lovely dipping melody. I wish there was something more going on in the music though.

Excellent match, these two really shouldn't have to compete against each other. I'm hoping for a draw.
I'll say B, because Neko is newer to me and needs more love.

Tough tie. Having one of my dearest selections on this cup was lucky. Incidentally I strongly recommend that Neko Case album (The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You)
Result makes me hand momentarily the wooden spoon to our fishy friend.

one of the shocks of the round, oz!
flange will be fuming as yet another of his jazz comfort blanket pick gets rejected by the board and puts him in a perilous position.
i'm trying to think of which genre has faired best in this cup. i think most of the 70s soul/funk picks have won.
