hmm. so both of these tracks are just loaded with echo and neither bothers me in the least. wtf is wrong with me?
I wouldn't think GC dancing with hipsters would be my sort of thing but I really like the guy. I like what he has to say. you wouldn't know it to look at him but I saw him live once and he was actually very exciting. LOL. I guess you'll have to take my word for it. yeah, dated and dancey but I think the guy is sincere in what he has to say. strident? certainly but you can't always be polite about these sorts of things.
so, after saying all that constructive stuff I'm going B I'm not sure I'd say I like it better but I am a sucker for that scorchy Gang of Four type feedback early in the track. that sounds really good.

I wonder who picked A!
The 1/4 industrial beat does not mesh well with the kitschier elements here. I'll just leave it at that.
B was no great shakes either, but they at least don't try and make more out of it than there is.

A started promising but quickly outstayed its welcome, becoming unbearable.
B was unbearable all the way through.

Good match! I still have a soft spot for the Sherwood/On-U sound, even if i seldom feel the urge to put those albums on any more. It's very ambitious and exciting as a mixture of sounds, if not always perfectly successful, and it makes me want to dance. B is ok, short and sharp, but not the winner for me here. A

I think 'Human Nature' was used as the theme tune to SNUB TV or something like that back in 1990. It's ridiculous but I like it a lot. I used to get stoned to this back in the day - this and that Adamski thing. And 'Always There' by Incognito. And early Shamen! And you've got Mark E's mate Lana Pillay in there! I'm getting a big kick out of it. B's pretty cool actually - powerful but not OTT, nicely compact but it's no match for Awhich has helped me momentarily relive happy student days

I too was a Sherwood/ On U Sound fan back in the day, people forget now how their all nighters crossed over with rave and in some ways prefigured it. I always found this one a bit clunky and clumsy though, although I was happy to see Gary score an unlikely hit. Clail's bellowing hasn't aged well, but it is redeemed by the drag queen chorus which I like well enough. B is like being accosted by a mental bloke in the street.

I remember when I first moved to Montreal to go to school, I was in a record shop (Dutchy's Record Cave) and was looking at an Adrian Sherwood/On-U/Clail thing, maybe this was it, I dunno, but I had heard something on the radio a few days earlier and was somewhat piqued by it. Anyway, I wound up buying Fugazi's "Repeater" and I'm glad I did instead of being saddled with that entirely-of-its-time Clail thing, What a load of old rubbish!
I do enjoy it when hardcore bands let their freak-flag fly, and this seems to be what's happening here, not being too familiar with Government Isssue.

EMF went downhill fast, didn't they?
Looks like this round is going to be a clunky shout-off, and I feel the cool bass and sandpaper guitar works better than the rubbish Sheep On Drugs-isms of Mr Clail.

I'm too old for this round, when I listened to B I felt like the audience in springtime for Hitler. I'll vote anyway for A.

Nice riff and tune, but the vocals spoiled it a bit for me, although the drag queen chorus was a nice tough
Was expecting something punkier. In fact rather similar to A in my view, with an insufficiency of drag queens.
Sod it, A
