LIfe ain't fair. If you are a Grace Jones fan then A feels like that new bike or blender you really wanted and you'll never forget how you felt when you got it. I didn't know it but that was the Grace Jones single I was waiting for. It might not be my favorite but it sure gets me each & every time when she's says "Heeere's Grace!"

A is iconic - which is part of the problem. I love the iconography and have generally warm feelings about Jones as a personality. But as the music was secondary even then, I really can't connect with it at all now. Plus, not exactly a deep dive.
B is honestly a bit repetitive and lacking in much dynamic, but of course it's also right in the ol' wh__lh_use.

i dislike jones with a passion, so any half decent pick would have got my vote.
fortunately, B was very groovy and got me shakin' my pert ass.

Love both tracks. But John needs the win and I'd like to see him make the final.

Both great. B is one of those out-of-nowhere-I-know picks that these cups are sometimes good for. It's lifting my Sunday hat CLEAN ORFF!
but that's Grace Jones' moment, an absolute triumph of production and performance. Undeniable

Is it JC's pick?
In that case, B.

Never been too keen on Grace Jones output, always found it to be style over substance.
And B is exactly as JC says and gets easily my vote. Fantastic find!

I prefer Jones with Sly and Robbie and sounding like something on Ze, but it's good enough -- A

Oh great match! Despite it being a classic A is still a brave pick, because of when it was made and the singer herself, who can divide music fans. And B is such a little gem, cheers picker! A simple rockin little gem with a little spoonful of soul. Arghh, tough decision... maybe GJ because i just love it so.

Terrible Lovejoy intro, what purpose did that serve? Anyway, I guess the track is ok, the production is almost more interesting than the actual song, it feels like a proper construction job from Horn, as if he assembled it from a bunch of random disparate components.
B's fairly uninteresting again.

it feels like a proper construction job from Horn, as if he assembled it from a bunch of random disparate components. Sort of,, it took him a long time to construct the track. But I don't think there was anything random about it, they really knew what they were doing. There's lots that's great about it, but at its heart is the syncopation between the warmth of the skipping, busy Trouble Funk rhythm section and the solemn and majisterial synth strings. It's masterfully done. As good as anything in music.

A is rather empty for me. I'm sure I've heard the song in B before by someone else but I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's not a bad track at all.
