Proposal: every day for a couple of weeks (once the current cup is done), we take turns to nominate a favourite album. Well known and well loved, completely obscure, or anything in between.
You just need to start a thread (ideally with a youtube link or similar) on your day, together with a bit of writing about the album, and inviting comments.
Sign up here with just your name (probably better to keep the name of the album secret until the day comes so we get MAX EXCITE from this) and I'll sort out a schedule later if there's enough interest.

I would be up for this - and indeed for a single a day too and/or a track a day too – BUT only once the CUP was done and dusted, which is basically about two and half weeks from now.

I'd prefer albums over individual tracks because it gives people more to think about. It's easier to be dismissive when you just have to listen to one thing - as the cup has shown time and again.

It's not a big deal. Because people probably won't make the time to listen to four or five albums a week and then write about them. You'll get an enthusiastic response to the first few and then the next few will start to get ignored. More of everything isn't always better. Set something that's doable for most people. |
