Big record for me.
Big record for David Crosby.
It's like the fullest flowering of that moody, abstract magic he brought to his old groups ("Deja Vu", "It Happens Each Day", etc.), and...I only wish there were more of it (which, I suppose there IS now).

for me, it's one of those albums i should love more than i do. Probably too ambient and jazzy for your tastes, you tend to prefer more straightforward rootsy stuff I'd say.

I don't know if this is my favourite track from the album, but it's certainly up there.I mean it's barely there, under two minutes, but the atmosphere it creates is so haunting. It's like Crosby was channeling some other dimension with this stuff.

It ("Orleans") sums up something about the album, no?
Also - would you believe it was released as a single?

I can't single that out - in my mind it's paired with “I’d Swear There Was Somebody Here”. What a way to end an album.
(I love "Kids And Dogs" but I wish they had put it somewhere in the middle - or even on the second disc.)

Fuck's sake - this is patience-testing old hippy bollocks, isn't it?
I was determined to see it through, and then when it got to the last track I thought 'oh - not long now!' - and it's the longest fucking thing there! CHRIST does he drone on!

There's some great music on it, but Crosby's lyrics drop a big stinko on the whole affair.
