i liked the oh susanna track musically, but i can't get on with her singing. she sounds like a million other wanna-bes.
osibisa is prime PROG which does ocassionally border on santana terroritory before reeling its neck in. some nice jeremy steig'ish flute towards the end.
my kind of PROG. i wonder how carlsson rates it?

I really like both of these. A has a beguiling melody and I dig the atmosphere created by the reverbed guitars and sultry vocal.
B takes a while to get going, but once it does it really takes you on a journey with each solo building up the tonal colours of the track. This isn't just a band jamming, you can tell they've thought about the structure and purpose of what they're doing.

A is alright - too whispery-voice adjacent for my taste, but as others have said, it's a nice song.
Not the track I would have chosen from B - it actually DOES sound a little proggy, though most of their stuff I've heard is a lot more Afro-pop than this (can't say I was expecting the Ian Anderson-isms at the end). But it still feels like the more natural-sounding - and hence easier to like - of the two.

Surprised I'm the first to go for
A
especially after reading the praise for it. It's a genuinely lovely number.
B is wank

I didn't like A at all. B, however, is the shit.

Hmm, A is quite low-key and nice, I don't know how much it straddles the line between low-key singer-songwriters I love (like Marissa Nadler), or low-key singer songwriters I don't like. Or where that line is. But it's encouraging that it doesn't feel the need to rock out, have a big chorus, or have any vocal gymnaastics. Just comfortable in its own skin as a decent song. Hmm. Is there some kind of prog-pride in having really shit album covers? There are likeable elements to this track, the African overtones, the drumming, the flute all have a certain appeal. But the keyboard and guitar spaffing all over the place, the vocalist having a stroke, then the ending.... A

A, although it sounds like minor league Sam Phillips.

A very definite A for me, similar to many of it's kind but lovely nonetheless.
B I'm fond of some prog but not this, I didn't like this fifty years ago and time hasn't changed anything.

Bit better than the one in S3, which isn't saying a lot, but every time she pushes upwards, I wince a bit. The mogadon guitar doesn't help. Just dull.
I never liked this band. I doubt this track will change my mind. Africa Schmafrica. And fucking flute and all. And wake up you fuckers, enough of this music to nod out too. And fuck me, the flute's back. Dreary, colourless shit. Oh, there's the vocal. FFS. And the ending, fucking Christ on a bike. I sincerely hope this is the worst track in the final or I might find myself opening a vein or several. WORSE THAN PROG.
With a peg on my nose, vote
a
It might send me to sleep, but at least it doesn't have me looking up the contact details of Dignitas.
