this poll is too over the top to prove a point G.
we need a bcb type poll from aftermath to goats head soup which includes their satanic.

"Wild Horses" in every important respect. One of which is that Jagger sings it as though it might be about an actual person/relationship.
"Angie" has nice strings, I'll give it that.

I like them both, but prefer "Angie". I think I just like the melody better. Less tired and start-and-stop-py. I do think "Angie" goes on one too many times at the end - should have ended with "Ain't it good to be alive?"

I like them both about the same. I like the way Jagger whispers Angie at the end, but I think Wild Horses is probably the better overall song so voted for that.

They are both classics but "Wild Horses" gets closer to my heart than "Angie".
I would also take "Moonlight Mile" before "Angie".
Still Goats Head Soup is a great album.

I'm the opposite to Quaco really. Much prefer the melody to Horses (particularly its verses), it has a tender beauty Angie can't match. Angie becomes too repetitive.

I love both but rarely pick Angie to play. Pleasantly surprised when I hear it occasionally though.
Wild Horses is -to me- one of the Stones' peaks. (Also because there's a load of memories attached to it.)

I prefer "...Horses" "Angie" never really clicked for me. it seems really forced to me.

I prefer "...Horses" "Angie" never really clicked for me. it seems really forced to me. It did to me for years too. The whispers and affected way he says "Angie" rode the line, seemed like Jagger-gone-too-far. Then I read a quote from a friend of Keith's who noted that it's really Keith's song to Anita, as Jagger didn't write the lyrics to this one. Don't know whether it's true, but it did humanize it a lot and words started coming into focus. No money in our coats, all the dreams going up in smoke, everywhere I look I see your eyes ... some emotional stuff going on there in a relationship that has gone sad with excess. (Apparently, Keith himself says "Angie" is another word for heroin.)
