As much as i love that OTC track, yours was clearly the better one for me, gashy. Fine pick.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with a win instead of a draw against fange in S3, I would have walked this...!
Seriously, I'm really glad that I did so well and got to share 5 more songs I love with you all.
And I'm extremely chuffed that the local band I palmed on you was the only one to garner 11 votes, along with the wonderful The Comet Is Coming.
So thanks Ray, thanks Osgood, congratulations fange, and looking forward to the next one!

My pleasure! Thanks for the $50! Yeah, that's the one.
...and if fange hadn't voted against his own pick in O3 (or me for him), there would have been another draw and an even closer result, but with Clive Gash winning.
Really exciting!

Really exciting! Wow, so many permutations! Cheers neige, well played.

True, but the Shangri-Las got 12. Now this can be a subject for discussion about choosing obscurities, because Ray's Shpongle pick wasn't bad at all IMO (bar the band name )
Your first point is correct, and there were a lot of variations of the same kind. In fact for three days you, fange and Clive Gash were alternating positions every few posts. Something similar happened for the last position which was held by G most of the time until the last few votes. Only skope was stable in his 4th position for a long time.

People tend to vote against things rather than for things in about 70-80% of the ties I think.

People tend to vote against things rather than for things in about 70-80% of the ties I think. I'm not sure that's true. I understand you can get that from the comments, but IMO it's simply easier to (attempt to) be witty with negative comments than to write positive ones. Sure it can hurt to receive them, but you should not complain about getting wet if you play with water balloons.

I'm not complaining, merely stating it's more common for people to vote against something, usually because of the genre, than for something. They vote for the 'less bad' track.

My comment about complaining wasn't addressed at you, G, or in fact anybody. Please read 'one' instead of 'you'.
