It's much much bigger than I expected, a really busy city but not at all attractive. Crazy traffic, not easy for pedestrians but there's a good Metro system. It's built for business, not for style. ALTHOUGH - I got a bit of a Paris feeling last night in one section (it was sometimes known as 'Paris of the East') where there were some impressive old structures - but it most closely resembles Budapest. Just more chaotic.

I like it but then I tend to like big cities anyway - they're always going to be interesting, wouldn't you say? You see things wherever you go. I'm really happy just walking around.

The food's been pretty poor generally. I went to a Romanian joint last night, sat at a table inside but it was stiflingly hot. Just as I was getting ready to order four dancers in traditional costume started doing their yelling clapping and floor stomping RIGHT beside me. The dresses were actually swishing by my head. So I walked out, didn't get the lamb stew in the end.

Parliament building tomorrow with my mate Rob who's on his way now. Now THAT should be good.
