I think all three of you numpties have made my point for me. I didn't see any point in posting in a thread where you three "negative nah knews" would get up in arms about something you didn't like or know. I've had a look at the thread and, surprise, surprise, it isn't full of the three "numpties" making negative comments, but don't let the facts get in the way of your martyrdom. Here's a suggestion. Instead of continually playing games of oneupmanship and belittling other's tastes, how about you post in a friendly fashion? You might find you enjoy the site more and other people respond to your posts more positively. And you can take that as an olive branch being offered.

"Up in arms".
Given my fondness for house and italo I am perfectly comfortable with explorations of an "alternative" 80s but I really do wish you'd stop projecting your insecurity onto us Gav.

My first post welcomed all. Thus far only you, JC, and Gb, the usual three, have been negative. No one's tastes were belittled, other than my own possibly, first world problems indeed. For me there hasn't been a decent tune posted, is this the point that you are trying to make? I mean it's just label rock they chose to foist on MTV.

FWIW I’ll take White Lion over White Lines. Vito Bratta is a great player, and Tramp was a fine singer.

Hey man at least I am listening to them first. I simply don't understand what I am expected to post, just eighties singles or American singles?

Whatever you wish, 9 US, 1 Australian, 1 Canadian, 1 UK, 1 Jamaican, you have it in your power to make it international.

I figured it was just a thread on 80s music that doesn't fit the taste of the majority. Hence the Anthrax, cos thrash metal won't get a positive response in the other thread.

From NYC based 99 records, both templates for others:
(for White Lines) Liquid Liquid - Cavern
(for Sonic Youth; Renaldo and Moore played on this Joy Division/Minimalist inspired slab) Glenn Branca - Lesson No. 1

I was going to choose Cavern for the other thread, but it's the 2nd track on an EP, so didn't count. Anyway, Alien Sex Fiend are always unpopular, but I love this more than words can express...
